Common Questions

How does the initial document review work?

A complimentary initial review may be agreed for the vessel’s core documents, history, class records and known weak points. If the evidence supports a deeper review or physical visit, scope, specialists and terms are agreed before work begins.

Do you survey remotely or in person?

Both. Records are reviewed first because they determine the questions an onboard inspection needs to answer. If a visit is warranted, location, scope and any specialist surveyors are agreed with the buyer.

What do you look for on an older converted yacht?

The conversion's compromises: stability margins, original machinery lineage, tankage and structural changes, class and flag history, and the maintenance culture of previous owners. Having operated converted explorer yachts, I know where these vessels age well — and where they don't.
